Our Mission

The George Bean Project is driven by a single goal; to shine the light of Christ to those thought unreachable and without hope.

Activities

Winter Warm Up

Homeless Outreach

Homeless Outreach

Proverbs 19:17

One of the biggest problems associated with homelessness is the challenge of staying warm.

The George Bean Project is dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Keeping warm is critical and not always easy on the streets. Clothing is one way that the homeless stay warm in the winter. By wearing layers of clothing such as two pair of socks instead of one, they can help trap heated air between their body and their clothing. Although this is optimal attire, it is often hard for homeless persons to find all of these materials, leaving them vulnerable to the elements.  By donating hats, gloves, coats  or socks you are assisting in the effort to keep the homeless warm.

Deuteromony 15:11

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge.

Homeless Outreach

  1. We go to where the homeless live on the streets. We park our car, get out, walk the streets and meet them.
  2. We greet them and tell them that we have water and whatever else we have with us that day, and ask if they need some of those things.
  3. We ask their name, shake their hands when possible, hug them when they want hugged and most importantly PRAY over them.
  4. We ask them what they need that they have difficulty finding. New, clean underwear is high on the list. Those who sleep in a shelter at night have fewer needs. Those who sleep outdoors have a greater need for warm clothing, sleeping bags, blankets and that sort of thing when the weather is cold.

Reindeer Ride

Homeless Outreach

Reindeer Ride

Psalm 34:17-20

One time a year we "secretly adopt" a family who has a child battling cancer. We aim to not only to surprise the family with Christmas gifts but also serve them with items they can utilize once Christmas day is over.

On Christmas Eve a group of bikers lined up like reindeer leading Santa will show up to a family's house completely unexpected. We deliver toys, monetary, household and most importantly joy. Our goal for the ride is to create a moment in time in these families lives where their child's illness and other worldly distractions disappear, replacing it with seeing their child/children smile, seeing strangers show support and above all , God's Love.
